Creative Residency & Retreats at Amassa Place
This winter, Amassa Place, a beautifully restored hamlet of old stone houses in the Gascon countryside of southwest France. For a few quiet months, it opens its doors for a season of residencies and retreats.
The Residency
January 10 to 24, 2027
1 or 2 weeks
We all have that one project that has been on the back burner, sometimes for years. This is your chance to finish it.
The residency is for artists, writers, filmmakers and makers. Whether you are working on a novel, a script, a photobook or a business you are ready to launch, this is time set aside to step away from the noise and bring it to completion.
Everything is taken care of, from your meals to the cleaning. Mornings begin with movement or yoga in the barn, and twice a week we gather to share where each project is and offer generous feedback. Afternoons open out into walks across the hills and visits to the local markets. In the evenings we come together around the long table, followed by the fire and the sauna. All you have to do is focus on your project.
Amassa sits an hour west of Toulouse, among woods, rewilded meadows and views that reach all the way to the horizon. There is company when you want it and solitude when you need it.
Seven rooms only. Applications close on 1 December.
